She has nearly 20 years of diversified experience in corporate planning, communications & marketing in local & multinational organizations. Ms.Chowdhury also led a consultancy service on Business Process Reengineering, Marketing Research, and Strategic Management, particularly on the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard. Standard Chartered Bank is a leading international banking group building a sustainable business over the long term.

G M Kamrul Hassan

[Group Chief Executive Officer – IGLOO Ice Cream, Dairy & Food Limited]

G M Kamrul Hassan is the Group Chief Executive Officer at IGLOO Ice Cream, Food Dairy Limited, the leading ice cream brand in the country. He is also the president of Bangladesh Corporate Forum. Mr. Hassan has a diverse career spanning multiple industries. Prior to joining IGLOO, he worked at some of the leading multinationals and local conglomerates including Nestlé, New Zealand Dairy, Rahimafrooz, and PRAN-RFL in various important roles.

Mr. Hassan has been awarded with South Asian Business Excellence Award 2017’ as the Best CEO in FMCG (Food and Beverage category) hosted by the World HRD Congress and endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses.

He has been working at FMCG industry in the emerging market Bangladesh for 23 years that includes different corporates of multinationals and national conglomerates.

Abu Taher Mohammad Zaber

[Joint Secretary and Director, Bangladesh Tourism]

He is the Joint Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and also the Director of Bangladesh Tourism Board. He joined the BCS Administration Service as an Assistant Commissioner in 1994. He has fulfilled his duty as the First Class Magistrate and as an Assistant Commissioner(Land) in Netrokona. Also, he was the Upazila Chief Executive Officer in Nachole of Chapai Nawabganj District. He served as Cabinet Secretary PS in the Cabinet Division and as Senior Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the Department of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Local Government Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Public Administration. At one stage of his government work, he worked as a consultant for one year at the World Bank Dhaka office in Sierra Leone.

Shamima Akhter

[Head – Corporate Affairs, Partnership & Communications, Unilever Bangladesh]

As head for Corporate Affairs for Unilever in Bangladesh, Shamima looks after Company Communications, Stakeholder relationship including government affairs and sustainability initiative.  Shamima joined Unilever in 2019. In 16 years of her work experience, Shamima has worked at global brands like Coca-Cola, Greenphone, technology start-up QUBEE, USAID and UNDP. Shamima holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from North South University and Masters of Arts (Gender Studies) from the University of Dhaka.

In partnership, Shamima also runs Dhaka Dough- health food business since 2015 which is the first health food brand in Bangladesh. Shamima enjoys climbing and cycling. She has joined 4 international expeditions and cycled in Indonesia, India, Nepal and Madagascar. She is a volunteer for International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) and has been participating in coastal cleanup programs last 8 years. She was also a founding member of UNYSAB (United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh).

Md. Aktar Uddin

[Country Coordinator, UNV Bangladesh, UNDP]

Md. Akter Uddin has 17 years of hands-on experience in programming, advocacy, partnership, strategic policy issue, development communication, fundraising, and volunteer management. He has worked with diverse development organizations i.e. UNDP, UNV, WHO, UNMIL (United Nations Mission in Liberia), ADD (Action on Disability and Development), MSH (Management Sciences for Health) & UN Volunteers and gained notable expertise and experiences in dealing with development challenges. Mr. Akter successfully established partnerships with several stakeholders including the government. He has proven records for mobilizing funds and integrated programs with the UN and other development agencies. His expertise also includes developing advocacy and communication strategies, monitoring and evaluating guidelines, policy papers, BCC materials, annual reports, NGO partnership guidelines etc. Mr.Akter has skills in administering research and social campaign activities. He is the author and co-author of several articles and publications. Also, he has membership in numerous civil society and voluntary organizations.
